"Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara is television's highest-paid actress for the sixth consecutive year, according to Forbes' 2017 list, released Tuesday.
Vergara, best known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on “Modern Family,” made $41.5 million last year (between June 2, 2016, and June 1, 2017) before taxes and fees, Reuters reported. Only about a quarter of Vergara’s income comes from her work on “Modern Family,” and more than half comes from her licensing and endorsement deals, with her movie roles, talent management agency, and speaking engagements filling in the cracks.
Kaley Cuoco come in second place with $26 million dollars. Although Cuoco makes $1 million per episode from CBS’ hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory,” more than double Vergara’s TV paycheck, she has fewer outside engagements, endorsements, and licensing deals.
Mindy Kaling and Ellen Pompeo’s earnings both dropped from last year and put them in a tie for third place with $13 million apiece. Mariska Hargitay dropped from $14.5 million to $12.5 million but retained her No. 5 spot.
