A space shuttle astronaut told a conspiracy theorist in a tweet last week that he once thought he saw something "alien-like" float out of the cargo bay of a space craft. He described it as “translucent, curved, organic looking.”
NASA engineer Leland Melvin made the revelation on Twitter when Scott C. Waring asked him if he had ever spotted a UFO before, BGR reported.
Nelvin replied that while he had not seen alien life in space or on the ground, he thought he once saw “something organic/alien like floating out of the payload bay.”
Startled by the sighting, Melvin said he quickly “called the ground to ask what it could be” but they dismissed it as ice that had likely broken off the Freon hoses.
A discussion about the validity of the sighting followed.
Waring, tweeting as UFO Sightings Daily, pointed out that perhaps Melvin’s opinion of the ice being organic was “more reliable than the opinion of someone on ground control over 400 miles away.”
He asked the engineer if it were possible they lied.
But Melvin shrugged this theory off.
