Shia LaBeouf is seeking long-term inpatient care following allegations of assault and battery. The "Transformers" star came under fire last week when his ex, singer FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress. In response, the actor said many of the claims were untrue but admitted to The New York Times that he was a recovering alcoholic. Now LaBeouf's lawyer has said that the Hollywood star will be receiving treatment.

"Shia needs help and he knows that," LaBeouf’s attorney told Variety. "We are actively seeking the kind of meaningful, intensive, long-term inpatient treatment that he desperately needs."

In her filing, FKA Twigs said LaBeouf mentally and emotionally abused her on several occasions. She further stated he knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease. The lawsuit also included allegations of abuse by another former girlfriend, Karolyn Pho, who claimed LaBeouf reportedly pinned her to a bed then head-butted her so hard she bled. Since then, several other women have come forth with similar accusations. Among them was popstar Sia who said on Twitter that she had also been hurt by LaBeouf.

"I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single," she tweeted. "I believe he's very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away."

Since then LaBeouf's career has taken a knock. The actor was being considered for an award by Netflix for his latest film, "Pieces of a Woman," but the streaming service has removed him from its awards-consideration page, according to Insider. His name is no longer listed in the description on the awards page and he also no longer features in stills from the movie.
