Sherri Shepherd is set to return to "The View" as a contributor as the daytime talk show continues to tinker with its lineup for the 19th season.
Shepherd left "The View" last year after serving seven years as a co-host. Her new deal will have her appear in about
50 episodes in a contributor's role, Deadline.com reported.
TLC's Stacey London, of "What Not to Wear," and actress Molly Sims will also be revolving contributors on "The View" as well, Deadline noted.
The New York Daily News pointed out that by the time Shepherd appears again on "The View" in the fall, the talk show will have said hello and goodbye to Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez, and Nicolle Wallace as co-hosts.
"The View's" hosting lineup for season 19 now includes mainstay Whoopi Goldberg along with actress Raven-Symone, comedian Michelle Collins, and newcomers Candace Cameron-Bure, formerly of "Full House," and "Good Morning America's" Paula Faris.
Shepherd, who shares a 2009 Daytime Emmy for co-hosting "The View," left last season along with
Jenny McCarthy and Barbara Walters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Since then, she has appeared in the Chris Rock movie "Top Five" and "The Soul Man" on TV Land.
Deadline.com reported that Shepherd appeared on Broadway last fall in "Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella" as the Evil Stepmother opposite Keke Palmer's Cinderella. She will also appear in
"Ride Along 2," set for release on Jan. 15, reported Variety.
Shepherd recently settled a stressful divorce this summer after agreeing to pay
child support to ex-husband Lamar Sally, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported July 1 that Shepherd agreed to pay $4,100 a month in child support, which will increase to $4,600 per month once the child turns 13. Shepherd, though, is pursuing a fraud claim against Sally that could relieve her of child support payments if the courts rule in her favor.
Shepherd has charged in her fraud claim that Sally convinced a surrogate to carry the couple's child for the purpose of receiving child support, noted TMZ.
