Shania Twain, a five-time Grammy winning country music star who has made Las Vegas her performance home for nearly two years, announced Monday that she will wrap up her Caesars Palace show by year's end.
Twain's "Shania: Still the One" show has been one of the more popular
musical acts in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Sun. Twain will perform her final show — the 110th — at Caesars Palace's Colosseum on Dec. 13.
"At the beginning of this amazing journey, through the rediscovery for my love of performing, I knew the stage would feel like home, but it turned out that Las Vegas itself became 'home,'"
Twain said in a statement on her website Monday.

"Performing for fans who come from all over the world to see the show night-after-night warms my heart. I started the first international Shania Kids Can clubhouse in Las Vegas because I love this city, and my time here has given me more than anyone can ever know. I can't thank Las Vegas enough," she continued.
The announcement comes on the heels of the singer's Best Resident Performer honor on
Las Vegas Weekly's "Best of Vegas 2014" list.
"Shania Twain truly is 'Still the One,'" the magazine wrote. "Her greatest-hits show is glitz and glamor and heavily incorporates the audience. She’s active in the community . . . She's everything one could ask for in a Strip headliner."
Country Weekly reported that Twain drew solid reviews from two sold-out shows at the Calgary Stampede earlier this month.
"In our 10 years of Saddledome concerts during the Calgary Stampede, Shania is the first artist to sell out two back-to-back shows," Adam Oppenheim, managing director of Stampede Concerts Inc., told the publication. "The Calgary Stampede and Stampede Concerts Inc. are ecstatic about Shania's two performances, and the fan's enthusiasm speaks for itself."
