Sergeant Ousted After Criticizing Obama

By    |   Monday, 22 August 2011 04:15 AM EDT

An Air Force staff sergeant from Omaha, Neb., who went AWOL to protest serving under President Barack Obama’ role as the military’s commander in chief, officially was discharged this week, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

“He is currently outprocessing for discharge from the Air Force, which was previously approved by his commander on August 4th,” read a statement released by U.S. Air Force in Europe.

Staff Sgt. Daryn Moran said he does not believe Obama is a U.S. citizen and should be arrested. Moran, based in Germany, stopped reporting for duty last week.

Air Force officials did not elaborate on the discharge. According to the Omaha World-Herald, Moran faced discharge proceedings prior to being absent without leave.

This week, Moran spoke out on several occasions against Obama, calling him “the enemy” and a “criminal.”

“Now it’s plain and simple,” he tweeted last Monday. “Arrest B. Obama or arrest me. I’m waiting in my house.”
