"Saturday Night Live" star Kristen Wiig and fiancé Avi Rothman have become parents to twins. The couple, who got engaged in 2019, welcomed their babies into the world via a surrogate earlier this year, confirming what many had suspected, a source told People.
Wiig first hinted that she was about to become a mom when she appeared as a host during SNL's Mother's Day "At Home" episode in May.
"I don't know if I truly appreciated my mom the first 45 years of my life. But this year I'm feeling especially grateful for her advice, her love. I'm so thankful for all the things she's taught me, like preparing to be a mom myself," Wiig said.
"Things like breastfeeding," she continued before lifting up a plate of cooked chicken breasts and adding, "'Babies love that chicken,' she would always say that."
Wiig previously said that she would "like to have a family" and would "love to have kids," according to Digital Spy, but she admitted to being in no rush to do so.
"I have a daughter who is a dog," she joked in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I've got some great plants that I've had for a long time that I feel like are my children."
Wiig and Rothman first sparked rumors of a relationship in 2016 when they were spotted cozying up in Kauai, Hawaii. A source later confirmed to People that the pair had been "dating for a few months."
"They're really happy together," the source added.
