Radio host Michael Savage has come under fire after he bashed Rush Limbaugh for delivering an emotional stage 4 cancer update on air. Taking to Twitter, Savage vented his feelings in a heated post that drew the attention of many before he deleted it.

Limbaugh revealed that his cancer is terminal.

"Limbaugh's crying about his cancer on air! Worst 15 minutes in radio history!" Savage tweeted, per Fox News. "Spilled a large coffee all over counter and floor. I PROMISE MY AUDIENCE THIS- I WILL NOT DRAG YOU DOWN WITH ME! Best wishes RUSH, but stop and leave the stage with dignity."

Savage's comments sparked outrage on social media and alienated followers as well as prominent media personalities.

"I think I speak for, oh, pretty much everyone when I say STFU you absolute d-----bag." tweeted Megyn Kelly.

"Were you hacked or are you just awful?" added Australian columnist Rita Panahi.

"Un-following after attack on Rush," a Twitter user commented on Savage's remarks about Rush.

"I will never listen to Michael Savage again. I encourage others to do the same. There is no excuse for this kind of narcissistic, heartless attack," another Twitter wrote.

Limbaugh first revealed that he had advanced lung cancer in late July and on Monday shared that scans showed it had progressed.

"Prior to that, the scans had shown that we had rendered the cancer dormant. That’s my phrase for it. We had stopped the growth. It had been reduced, and it had become manageable," he said.

"But it’s always the reality, and the knowledge, that that can change and it can come back, because it is cancer. It outsmarts pretty much everything you throw at it. And this, of course, this is stage 4 lung cancer."

Limbaugh explained that doctors have tweaked his treatment plan, then thanked listeners for their well-wishes.

"Hearing from you, knowing that you’re out there praying and everything else you’re doing, that is a blessing," he said. "It’s just a series of blessings, and I am grateful to be able to come here to the studio and tell you about it."
