Roseanne Barr tweeted Thursday she is “so sick” about her former co-stars Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman losing their jobs when their sitcom “Roseanne” was canceled after Barr tweeted a seemingly racist comment about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.
"I just wish ABC had not thrown two of the greatest actors in the world out with me—Laurie and John. I’m so sick over this—they will never have better character actors on their network," she tweeted.
Jimmy Kimmel suggested on his show Tuesday that the show be renamed “Dan” and go on without Barr.
Mindy Kaling tweeted she would write new scripts for Metcalf and Goodman.
Metcalf and Goodman have not commented since the show was abruptly canceled by ABC, other than Goodman saying he didn’t want to cause more trouble.
Barr apologized for the tweet about Jarrett, claiming she didn’t know the aide was black when she compared her to an “ape.” Barr also said she was taking Ambien while tweeting.
A source close to Barr told People, “She’s not intentionally hurtful. They all loved each other on the 'Roseanne' set. It really was one big happy family.”
