Roseanne Barr, who said she is considering a political run in Israel, thanked President Donald Trump for moving the U.S. Embassy there to Jerusalem.
“It’s the first step to peace in the world," Barr said at the Jerusalem Post Conference on Sunday in New York City, according to Us Weekly.
Barr explained that Trump told her "a lot of presidents have promised it," but that he "got it done.”
“I want to thank you on behalf of my mother, and all the Jewish people for moving the embassy to Jerusalem,” she said.
Barr, who is Jewish, said she is considering moving to Israel to run for prime minister, the Post reported.
She said she definitely intended to move to Jerusalem, but whether she campaigned for the role of prime minister is something still up in the air.
“I do have that fantasy. If God calls me, I’ll go," she said.
“I want to make aliya, I do, and before all the stuff is sold – all the real estate. I still have this fantasy of being an old Jewish lady living in the Jewish homeland... I want to buy a farm there and maybe bring my family.”
The move would have to wait as Barr has just been signed on for another year of "Roseanne." But the actress said after that you never know what’s going to happen.
The "Roseanne" star was thrust into the limelight after the reboot of her ABC sitcom proved to be a resounding success, gaining congratulatory words and even a call from Trump himself.
The revived sitcom drew an average of 18.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating in the key demo during its first back-to-back episodes in March, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
