Ron Paul's Troops Were the Real Protesters at RNC

Without the Ron Paul forces massing on every corner, the streets around the Tampa Bay Times Forum are significantly more quiet today.

Paul's supporters blanketed the city throughout Day 2 of the RNC, yelling, chanting and singing almost continuously. And after Paul did not achieve the plurality of states needed to put him on the ballot, which kept him from giving a speech to the convention and nation, they only got louder.

Thus far today, the only people yelling on street corners have been relgious preachers, attempting to spread the word any way they can.

This, save Bryn Dennehy, a college student from Eugene, Oregon, who stood just outside the convention checkpoint as the only Paul supporter still asking attendees to support the Libertarian candidate.

"We're disappointed," Dennehy said. "We were holding out hope he'd be up for nomination... which would allow him to be on the ballot and require them to let him address the delegates on stage."

According to Dennehy, a group of protesters and Paul supporters were meeting this afternoon to draft a press release about the last 24 hours and figure out what to do next.
