Romney Lambasts Obama Policies

In the Lone Star State on a campaign swing, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney heaped praised on Gov. Rick Perry while taking in some Texas barbecue. He also lambasted President Barack Obama’s economic, healthcare and Middle East policies, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Friday.

Romney, a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, said Perry could teach others about creating a business-friendly environment.

"He's done a heck of a job," Romney said. "The rest of the country could learn a lot of lessons from Gov. Perry."

Romney woofed down a pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw and beans at Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q in Arlington the same day the president unveiled a new Middle East policies. He criticized Obama’s vision for the Middle East, accusing him of abandoning allies, like Israel.

"You stand by your friends," Romney said.

Romney criticized Obama's handling of the economy, telling the crowd "it helps if you've had a job." He also touched on the healthcare plan he signed as governor, maintaining that it was the right move.

"Our plan was a state solution to a state problem," Romney told reporters. "Our plan also did not have the government taking over healthcare. And that's precisely what [Obama's healthcare law] does."
