Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III and his girlfriend Grete Sadeiko claim they were robbed of money from their wallets left in their car while it was parked in the valet parking lot for players and their family and friends during Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Grete Sadeiko tweeted about the theft after the game.
Many of the comments questioned the wisdom of leaving valuables in the car, which led Sadeiko to issue a follow-up tweet.
Griffin has been on injured reserve for a shoulder injury since Sept. 12 and did not play in Sunday’s game. The Browns lost Sunday’s game to the Giants and are 0-12 on the season this year.
TMZ reported Brown is investigating the theft. A representative told TMZ, “We are looking into the matter and it will be handled appropriately.”
Sadeiko, 23, is a track and field heptathlete at Florida State University who is originally from Estonia. She started dating Griffin after he announced he was divorcing his wife in August.
