Rob Lowe's new venture, a skin care and cosmetics line for men, makes its debut this week online and will hit Nordstrom in the fall.
The “Parks and Recreation” star has assembled a variety of anti-aging products for men in his new line,
called Profile, the Toronto Sun reported. Profile will include products like moisturizer, cleanser, shave gel, aftershave, and under-eye serum to help men maintain a youthful appearance.
“Every man should have access to what he needs to maximize his potential and put and put his best face forward," Lowe said of his new collection.
The 51-year-old’s Profile line kicks off its
e-commerce this week at Profile4Men.com and the products will debut at
Nordstrom in the fall, according to Women's Wear Daily.
While Lowe’s celebrity status certainly boosts his product when it comes to advertising, above all he considers himself a developer first before anything.
“I’m not the celebrity endorser, I’m not the face of the product. I’m the developer of it. I have an entrepreneurial spirit,” Lowe told WWD.com. “It’s a little like writing my two books ['Love Life' and 'Stories I Only Tell My Friends']. People asked me if I considered using a ghostwriter or a coauthor. For a lot of people, that works very well. For me, it doesn’t. I’m just very proprietary about my communications and my aesthetic. I think what made both books find the success that they did is that it’s clear they belong to me, and I have a point of view. This is the same thing.”
Profile's price ranges from $24.50 to $59.50 for the different products.
“This is not a repackaged women’s line with macho print,” Lowe said. “This is formulated specifically for men’s skin, which is up to 30 percent thicker than women’s skin.”
Lowe plans to integrate fragrances and hair care products to the line in the future.
