Professional wrestler “Nature Boy” Ric Flair successfully underwent intestinal surgery Monday stemming from his nearly year-old medical battle.
The surgery reversed Flair's ileostomy, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported, a procedure that brings part of the small intestine out through an opening in the abdomen.
Charlotte Flair, daughter of the 69-year-old three-time WWE Hall of Famer and herself a WWE headliner, told WWE.com her father is recovering nicely from the procedure.
"While some may have assumed that the effects [of his health problems last fall] may have slowed down my father's lifestyle, he really embraced it all, has ended up doing more work in the last couple months than in the previous few years and is enjoying life," she told WWE.
"However, when he was told that he had the opportunity to possibly reverse some of the effects of the initial surgery, my father decided it was something he wanted to try, and he was very positive about the procedure," she continued.
Charlotte Flair added that if things continue as they have, Ric Flair may be discharged from the hospital sometime in the next three to four days.
Although he was on life support last August, Charlotted Flair reiterated her father’s bright prognosis and gave thanks to his fans for their thoughts and prayers on Twitter.
Fans continued to offer their support to Flair.
