Toronto Blue Jays catcher Reese McGuire was arrested in Florida for "exposure of sexual organs," according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, reports USA Today. McGuire was found allegedly sitting exposed inside an SUV in Dunedin, Florida, parked at a shopping center on Feb. 7.
Police arrived at the scene to find the 24-year-old Major League Baseball player and former first-round pick inside the vehicle with his shirt "barely covering his genitals," according to the police report cited by TMZ.
Witnesses told Pinellas County deputies that McGuire was masturbating. The police report stated an "extremely pornographic video was playing on the screen" that he was watching when cops busted him.
McGuire did apologize about the "embarrassing" situation.
"I really shouldn't have been doing that," he said, according to TMZ.
Toronto released a statement on Wednesday, stating that McGuire had been in touch with the team and that they were "working to gather information."
"Out of respect for the legal process, neither he nor the club will comment any further at this time," the statement read.
McGuire was booked for misdemeanor "exposure of sexual organs" charges and was given notice to appear in court on March 16.
