A nanny has filed a lawsuit against "Real Housewives of New York" star Jennifer Gilbert's ex-husband for secretly filming her in the nude and having sex with her boyfriend.
Daniela de los Rios says she was "horrified and traumatized" to learn she was under surveillance after discovering Bennett Egeth's iPad on a hallway table with a live feed of her bedroom in August, according to the complaint filed on Tuesday and obtained by the New York Daily News.
"She was horrified and immediately inspected her room to find a digital clock, which apparently concealed the secret video recording device, aimed at her bed," the legal document read.
Egeth was arrested on Sept. 16. While searching his devices, police discovered "a number of video clips" of de los Rios in her room on his iCloud account.
"Egeth had in fact recorded her on many occasions throughout the year and eight months that she lived in the home, including recording her in the nude in the bedroom, and recording her engaged in sexual relations with her then-boyfriend," according to the complaint.
Egeth's defense attorney David Touger has denied the allegations. In a statement to the Daily News, Gilbert said she and Egeth had divorced several months ago. She was not criminally charged.
Gilbert, who is a party planner, appeared on Season 3 of "Real Housewives of New York," which ran from March to June 2010. In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, she spoke of her decision to join the show.
"I am not afraid to say what I think, I am not an instigator, and I am not a mean girl, but I will say what I feel, and I think maybe the juxtaposition of me versus what’s there could be kind of fun," she said. "If someone asks me an opinion, I’m going to tell them what I think, versus just being outwardly cruel for no reason."
