“Batman v Superman” and “Hillary’s America” tied at the 2017 Razzies on Saturday, becoming a part of “Hollywood’s hall of shame.”
The two films won four Razzies each for their poor performances on the big screen, according to The Associated Press.
“It all came down to two decidedly different examples of cinematic sludge: The $250 million comic book oop-us Batman v Superman and the faux right wing ‘documentary’ Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party,” according to a statement from Razzies.
Despite bringing in more than $870 million, “Batman v Superman” received a string of negative reviews on opening weekend.
At the Razzies, also known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, the DC superhero film won “Worst Supporting Actor for Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, Worst Screen Combo for Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman, Worst Screenplay for Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, and Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
As for the political documentary that placed Hillary Clinton in a negative light, it provided viewers with “the sordid truth about Hillary and the secret history of the Democratic Party.”
The documentary won Worst Picture while the film’s narrator walked away with two awards; Worst Actor and Worst Director, Entertainment Weekly noted. The actress that starred in the documentary as Clinton, won Worst Actress for her performance in the documentary.
