The Razzie Awards crowned Tom Cruise as the worst actor in Hollywood while "The Emoji Movie" won four Razzies on Saturday.

Each year the annual Golden Raspberry Awards pays tribute to the worst films and performances of the year, with 1,000 voting members from across the U.S. deciding upon the deserving recipients on the weekend of the Oscars, CNN noted.

"The Emoji Movie" took home the official worst picture, screen combo, director and screenplay awards and was officially branded as a "talking poop opus" by Razzies organizers, MovieWeb noted.

Meanwhile Cruise has long been in contention for the Worst Actor award, having received two previous nominations for his 1988 performance in "Cocktail" and his 2005 appearance in "War of the Worlds," according to Rolling Stone magazine.

However, it was his role in "The Mummy" that saw the actor finally receive his first Razzie award.

Tyler Perry earned the Worst Actress award for her appearance as Madea in "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween," while Kim Basinger was awarded as Worst Supporting Actress for her performance in "Fifty Shades Darker"- a film that also managed to earn a Razzie award for Worst Remake, Ripoff, or Sequel.

Mel Gibson scooped up the Worst Supporting Actor award for "Daddy’s Home 2," and "Baywatch" clinched the Special Rotten Tomatoes Award: The Razzie Nominee So Bad You Loved It!

This year, the Razzie Awards packed a little extra punch when it also dedicated its "In Memoriam" to Hollywood figures whose careers came to an end after being exposed by the #MeToo movement.

Included in the tribute were the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and James Toback, who received a blunt tribute from event organizers stating: "Very sorry, but we won't be missing you… or your kind," Rolling Stone reported.
