In a surprise upset,
Radio Shack's Super Bowl commercial was the best of the night, at least according to Twitter users.
Let's be honest — a store with "radio" in its name isn’t exactly well equipped for the year 2014, but Radio Shack managed to use that fact in its favor with a 30-second spot that was refreshingly self-aware and hilariously self-deprecating.

The commercial opens with an employee receiving a mysterious phone call. In disbelief, he hangs up and turns to his co-worker.
"The '80s called. They want their store back," he says.
A team of '80s celebrities and personalities then descends on the store to take back their stuff and usher Radio Shack into a new era. With appearances by Hulk Hogan, Mary Lou Retton, Sgt. Slaughter, Alf, Chuckie, Kid 'n Play, John Ratzenberger, and the California Raisins, the commercial was both nostalgic and effective.
AdAge.com awarded the Radio Shack spot a full four stars and ranked it the best of the night.
"In an attempt to update its stores and its image, Radio Shack does something few brands have the backbone to do: it acknowledges reality," the media news site wrote of the commercial. "The reality in this case is that if Americans think of Radio Shack at all, it's as a relic."
