Queen Elizabeth was spotted at London Fashion Week, sitting front row and center with the queen of fashion herself, Vogue's Anna Wintour.
The monarch made a surprise guest appearance at Richard Quinn's show, which is the last of London Fashion Week, on Tuesday afternoon, The Guardian reported.
Her entrance reportedly caused a stir as the 91-year-old monarch picked her way to the front to sit beside Wintour, with the two engaging in some chat before the show started.
Queen Elizabeth is hardly a regular at London Fashion Week, however, according to People, she looked every bit the part in an elegant but simple blue wool tweed dress, which she paired with a jacket featuring aquamarine Swarovski crystal embellishment and a pair of black gloves.
She also presented an award recognizing British design excellence to Richard Quinn, a recent fashion graduate of Central Saint Martins.
"From the tweed of the Hebrides to Nottingham lace, and of course Carnaby Street, our fashion industry has been renowned for outstanding craftsmanship for many years, and continues to produce world-class textiles and cutting edge, practical designs," she said, according to NBC News. "As a tribute to the industry, and as my legacy to all those who have contributed to British fashion, I would like to present this award for new, young talent."
Quinn launched his own fashion label in 2016 and has since been flagged as one of Britain's up-and-coming designers.
The London-based designer was selected by the British Fashion Council to receive the first Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, which will be handed out annually to an emerging British designer who shows talent and originality, BBC reported.
