Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton released new photos of Princess Charlotte over the weekend to mark her first birthday on Monday.
Kensington Palace posted the photos on Twitter, saying, “We hope that everyone enjoys these lovely photos as much as we do.”
The photos were taken by the duchess at the family’s country home in Norfolk in April.
“She has once again shown she has an eye for a picture, with the added benefit of being able to get the best out of her children as a mother,”
The Telegraph said of the duchess.
Princess Charlotte was seen last month posing with the queen for the queen’s 90th birthday.
News reports noted similarities between Princess Charlotte and her older brother, Prince George, who will turn 3 year old in July.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children might nearly be mistaken for twins if they were the same age,”
The International Business Times noted.
Princess Charlotte has received gifts and letters from 64 countries during the past year,
The Daily Mail reported.
During their recent visit to England, U.S. President Barack Obama and Mrs. Obama gave the young princess a jigsaw puzzle and a stuffed dog replica of Bo, the President's Portuguese Water Dog.
Other gifts have included a snowsuit from the prime minister of Canada, a cot blanket from the Australian government, a selection of teddy bears and blankets from the prime minister of New Zealand, and a silver rattle from the president of Mexico.
Twitter users oohed and aahed over the photos.
