Prince William is reportedly in Kate's dog house after the British press posted photos of the future king partying with his friends and an unidentified woman during a recent ski trip.
Sources said that Princess Kate was "less than pleased" with Prince Williams after the photos popped up in several tabloids Wednesday, Vanity Fair reported. The prince skipped the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday for the ski trip, leaving the duchess at home with their two children, the magazine noted.
Queen Elizabeth, William's father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince Harry, attended the service, Vanity Fair said. The Sun reported that Queen Elizabeth sees Commonwealth Day, celebrating the culture and ties of 52 member countries, as the most important in the Royal year.
"It's surprising he's not on parade at a time when the politicians are saying our Commonwealth links are more important than ever in this post Brexit era," historian and royal biographer Robert Lacey told The Sun.
"Any British royal has to demonstrate that occasions like Commonwealth Day matter to them, and it doesn't look that way if you choose to go skiing with your friends," Lacey added.
Along with Prince Charles and Harry, the Queen was joined at the service by Prince Philip, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, along with Charles' wife, Camilla.
"Prince William skipped a major Commonwealth ceremony with the Queen to party with friends in the Swiss Alps where he was seen enjoying a boozy lunch with a glamorous Australian model," Daily Mail writer Rebecca English reported.
"Hours before other royals attended a service at Westminster Abbey to mark Commonwealth Day, an occasion with deep personal resonance for the monarch, the 34-year-old was drinking and dancing in a club in the upmarket resort of Verbier," the Daily Mail continued.
The Daily Mail added that Prince William was spotted drinking beer with friends earlier in the day, including nightclub boss Guy Pelly and 24-year-old model Sophie Taylor.
"The prince's decision to miss such a key event in the royal calendar will revive criticism that the father of two is 'workshy' and failing to knuckle down to his royal role," wrote English with the Daily Mail. "Ms. Taylor works at the Farinet nightclub, the popular après-ski hangout where William and his friends were spotted until the early hours.
"The stunning blonde has previously worked for Australian model agency Chadwick models and also posed topless for photographer Glen Krohn in Bali when she visited the island last year," English continued.
