The newest royal baby has a name, Prince Louis Arthur Charles, and fans are speculating he may have been named after three “Harry Potter” characters from the Weasley family.
The prince was born as the third child of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Monday, but his name was not announced until Friday. Royal experts say the child was named after relatives, but Harry Potter fans couldn’t resist commenting on the fact that his three names correspond to three members of the Weasley family from the "Harry Potter" series.
Pottermore’s Twitter page was the first to point out Friday morning that the royal child’s names were found in the Weasley family, as well.
In the books, Louis Weasley is the youngest child of Bill and Fleur Weasley and the only male character with Veela blood. Arthur Weasley is the patriarch of the Weasley clan and works for the Ministry of Magic, and Charles Weasley is Arthur’s second son who had dealings with dragons.
William and Kate did visit the "Harry Potter" set in London in 2013 and seemed to be fans, Insider noted, but social media couldn’t resist speculating about the names even without official confirmation.
Prince Louis' father Prince William presented "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling with the Companion of Honour Award in December, a title only 64 people have had.
The new baby — who is fifth in line for the throne — was likely named after Louis Mountbatten, who was killed by an IRA bomb in 1979, Insider pointed out.
