Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will honeymoon in Canada at a posh wilderness location where a bunch of royalty and celebrities have stayed, TMZ reported in quite the scoop on Monday.
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta has housed the likes of Anthony Hopkins, John Travolta and Bill Gates, according to TMZ. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I stayed there in 1939, and Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip stayed there in 2005.
The couple is expected to stay at the Outlook Cabin there, also known as the "Royal Retreat."
The cabin is 6,000 square feet in the heart of the Jasper National Park and TMZ cited sources saying officials are already stocking up for the visit, which will include British and Canadian security.
"Relax at the full-service spa, where you can enjoy massages, body treatments, and facials," says the lodge's website. "While the golfer in the family is out on the course, you can enjoy above-par recreational amenities such as a health club and an outdoor pool. Additional amenities at this resort include complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and babysitting/childcare."
The two were married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19 but haven’t been able to get away for a honeymoon just yet.
"The honeymoon destination has changed a few times since they started planning," royal expert Omid Scobie told Elle.com. "If a location leaks prior to travel, it compromises their safety on the trip, and they'll be advised by their protection team to change plans.
"William and Kate's protection officers ended up doing recon on two destinations before they settled on the Seychelles for their 2011 honeymoon. I heard that just over a month before the wedding, Harry and Meghan hadn’t even booked a destination, so these plans have come together rather quickly," Scobie added.
