A pregnant model caused an online uproar after she posted a few selfies showing off her abs, with many commenters saying her baby bump is much too small for being nearly nine months along.
"Where's this baby hiding at? Definitely not her tummy!" said one of Sarah Stage's million-plus Instagram followers, responding to the many pictures she's shared on the social network.
Stage defended herself and sought to assuage concerned fans that her baby was just fine in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday.
"As long as the baby is healthy I don’t think anything else matters," she said. "That should be the most important thing."
Stage said she has continued to work out through her pregnancy, but has gained 20 pounds. She said her baby was coming along fine, and weighed five pounds when she hit the eight-and-a-half-month mark.
As ABC reported, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says that, on average, women should gain between 20 and 40 pounds during pregnancy. Most women's babies gain half a pound a week in the final month of pregnancy, so her bump is likely to balloon before the baby arrives.
