Porsha Williams, 'Housewives' Star, Briefly Jailed in Atlanta

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams was reportedly arrested Monday in Atlanta after being pulled over for speeding.

According to TMZ, Williams allegedly was driving 78 mph in a 55 mph zone and had a suspended license. She posted $1,726 to get out of jail.

Williams released a statement to Dish Nation: “I was headed to visit my grandfather who is very ill with cancer in the hospital, and I was pulled over. I was wrong for speeding absolutely and apologize for putting anyone at risk. I tried to explain the situation to the officer and show him that all my paperwork was in order, but he refused. Handcuffs are not comfortable or a good look for anyone. I was released, I have my license, my car, and my freedom.”

This was the second arrest this year for the reality star. In April she was charged with misdemeanor battery for an incident with cast member Kenya Moore during the taping of a “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion.

Williams was demoted to a part-time cast member in Season 7 because “there just wasn’t enough storyline with her,” Hollywood Life said.
