The 10 Most Popular Governors – They're All Republican

The most popular governors in the U.S. have been revealed and they are all Republican, a new survey has found.

To arrive at these findings, Morning Consult polled more than 5,000 registered voters across the U.S. on a daily basis over several weeks to determine the overall governor's approval rates. These results are released in a report each quarter.

The most recent survey puts Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker at the top of the list as the most-liked governor in the U.S. Coming in at second is Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, who is followed by New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu.

The net approval rating for Republican governors exceeds that of the Democratic governors by 17 points, U.S. News & World Report noted. And while the 10 most popular governors are Republicans, on the opposite end of the scale, eight of the 10 most unpopular governors are Democrats.

Based on the Morning Consult's survey, these are the 10 most popular governors in the U.S.:

1. Charlie Baker (Republican: Massachusetts)- State voters who approve: 73%   

2. Larry Hogan (Republican: Maryland)- State voters who approve: 70%

3. Chris Sununu (Republican: New Hampshire)- State voters who approve: 65%   

4. Phil Scott (Republican: Vermont)- State voters who approve: 60%

5. Doug Burgum (Republican: North Dakota)- State voters who approve: 59%

6. Mark Gordon (Republican: Wyoming)- State voters who approve: 59%

7. Asa Hutchinson (Republican: Arkansas)- State voters who approve: 59%

8. Greg Abbott (Republican: Texas)- State voters who approve: 58%

9. Ron DeSantis (Republican: Florida)- State voters who approve: 57%

10. Kay Ivey (Republican: Alabama)- State voters who approve: 57%
