America is home to some of the most iconic fast-food chains around and more just keep appearing. The past decade has seen 30,000 new fast-food restaurants open, according to Statista.

The bulk of these establishments belong to the big players like McDonald's and Taco Bell, and there is a good reason why they are dominating the food industry. With countless meal options, customers have plenty of choices. But have you ever wondered what other people are ordering?

Knowing what is popular, or just really tasty, could help next time you are stuck trying to pick something off the menu. To narrow down your choices, Eat This, Not That recently took a closer look at the most popular items at each fast-food restaurant.

Based on data available online, combined with information from brand reps, the outlet was able to determine what the top picks were. Here we look at the most popular items from 10 fast-food restaurants:

1. Arby’s: Nothing beats the classics and when it comes to Arby's, the top seller is its classic roast beef sandwich. The joint is known for its fresh signature roast beef, which is marinated and roasted daily.

2. Chick-fil-A: Chicken may be Chick-fil-A's specialty but the chain is also known for its fries, which have been a hot seller since it first opened. In 2018, the most ordered item from this fast-food restaurant was its waffle fries.

3. Chipotle: People ordering from Chipotle tend to go for the chicken burrito bowl with white rice and black beans. The meal is so popular that many have even tried to recreate the recipe online.

4. McDonald’s: You could spend hours debating which menu items McDonald's is best known for but Eat This, Not That has settled the score — it is the fries, and it has been, since the 1950s.

5. Five Guys: At a joint like Five Guys, where burgers are the specialty, the two-patty cheeseburger takes top honors. The most popular toppings? Lettuce followed by ketchup.

6. Long John Silver’s: The most popular fast-food item from America's largest quick-service seafood chain is the two-piece fish meal. This popular meal comprises Alaskan whitefish that has been battered and fried and served with two hushpuppies and two sides.

7. Wendy’s: The next time you are at Wendy's, make sure you order the chain's no.1 seller, Dave's Single. You will tuck into a burger made with a quarter pound of beef, American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle, ketchup, mayo, and onion all on a toasted bun.

8. Panda Express: American Chinese food is what Panda Express does best and its orange chicken is the dish that people love to order the most. This meal has also spawned countless copycats but none compare to the original.

9. Taco Bell: In a world of tacos, the crunchy taco (with the seasoned beef, lettuce, and cheese) is the most popular order at Taco Bell. Who would not want to tuck into the crispy corn tortilla shell stuffed with ground beef, lettuce, and shredded cheddar cheese?

10. Jack in the Box: You would think that burgers are the most commonly ordered meal from a joint known for its burgers, but things are a little different at Jack in the Box. The fast-food chain's tacos, made with American cheese, shredded lettuce and taco sauce, are so good that customers just keep coming back for more.
