Poor Leo. That's how much of the Internet felt Sunday after five-time Oscar nominee and zero-time Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio lost to Matthew McConaughey for Best Actor, with the phrase even trending on Twitter.

McConaughey won his first Oscar for "Dallas Buyers Club" and actually appeared with DiCaprio in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

After DiCaprio didn’t win this year’s Best Actor Oscar, many have taken to Twitter since Sunday to express their feelings with the hashtag #PoorLeo and expressions like, “always a bridesmaid.”

DiCaprio, 39, however, did win the 2014 Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role as Jordan Belfort in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

In the past 20 years, DiCaprio has been nominated for Best Actor in such films as “The Aviator” and “Blood Diamond.” He was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1994 for “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?” and was a producer for “The Wolf Wall Street” that was nominated for a 2014 Oscar but ultimately lost to “12 Years a Slave.”

This tweet, spoofing DiCaprio as heartbroken for losing the Oscar again, got more than 730 retweets:

Other people tweeted their sentiments for DiCaprio losing again.
