More Republicans know that Donald Trump is considering a run for the nation’s highest office than can name any of the other possible GOP contenders, according to a Pew Research poll released Wednesday.

About a quarter, or 26 percent, of all Americans can name Trump as a possible Republican presidential candidate, far more than can name any other contender.
Among Republicans, 39 percent say they know he’s a possible candidate, more than all the other possible candidates combined, the poll showed.
When pollsters asked which possible nominee they have heard most about, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in far behind Trump, with only 9 percent of all Americans and 12 percent of Republicans naming him. The rest of the field came in at 4 percent or less.
The poll also showed that much of the nation hasn’t turned its attention yet to the presidential race with about half of all Americans, 53 percent, not being able name any of the possible GOP candidates.
