Phil Collins will tour North America for the first time in 12 years, and he plans to make the occasion count with 15 shows scheduled for October, Rolling Stone reported.
When Collins announced his retirement in 2010, fans accepted that they would not see the musical icon on stage again and drew upon memory to recreate his live moments from over a decade ago.
So when he returned to music in 2014 with a handful of songs, their hope of seeing him live one last time was restored.
Collins initially decided to retire following his tour supporting the covers album "Going Back," partly because of chronic back issues that were hampering his performance, Ultimate Classic Rock said.
Four years later he tentatively returned to the stage with two songs at his son's school, which was followed up with a seven-song show at a fundraising concert for his Little Dreams Foundation in 2016.
"I felt I owed it to myself because I'd been on the road all my life," Collins told The Guardian of his retirement, adding that he soon got bored.
"Suddenly I had a lot of time on my hands," he explained.
Now fans can rejoice as Collins plots his "Not Dead Yet, Live!" Tour, which will launch Oct. 5 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and concludes Oct. 28 in Los Angeles.
Joining Collins on stage for the tour is longtime guitarist Daryl Stuermer, keyboardist Brad Cole, bassist Leland Sklar, percussionist Luis Conte and his 16-year-old son Nicolas on drums, Billboard noted.
The band will be accompanied by backup singers and a horn section, which will add depth to the live sound.
