Nancy Pelosi, the only woman present, scolded the men during Wednesday’s dinner with President Donald Trump, with sources telling The Washington Post she asked at one point, "Do the women get to talk around here?"
There was an immediate hush at the dinner where some kind of a deal was being discussed between Trump and Democratic leaders over allowing young undocumented immigrants known as "dreamers" to stay in the country in exchange for a border security package, the Post said.
Pelosi, House Minority Leader, and Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader, were at the dinner with Trump and eight others when Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross asked, "What exactly does the president get out of the deal?" sources told the Post.
When Pelosi attempted to make her point about future Democratic cooperation on a range of issues, others in the room began talking over her and to each other, the sources said, per the Post.
That was when Pelosi interjected, according to the sources: "Do the women get to talk around here?
The room fell silent and Pelosi was not interrupted again, the sources told the Post.
Pelosi chief of staff Drew Hammill shared the link to the exchange described in the Post on Twitter.
