The homeless man who allegedly assaulted "NCIS" start Pauley Perrette outside her Hollywood home on Thursday has pleaded not guilty to charges of false imprisonment by violence and making a criminal threat.
According to The Associated Press, David Merck, 45, was arraigned on Monday at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
CBS News reported that prosecutors described Merck as "transient."
Shortly after the incident, Perrette took to Twitter to share the alleged details.
"On my street, I was jumped by a very psychotic homeless man," Perrette wrote. "He grabbed me so forcefully, pinned my arm, and punched me in the nose and forehead. He [kept] repeatedly telling me he was going to kill me. Then he showed me how he was going to kill me."
"There was an empty garage behind me and I knew if he got me in there I was dead. I knew I couldn't over come him. I prayed my heart out [and] then finally said, 'William is a beautiful name, I have a little nephew named William.'"
In the end, Perrette said that the man let her go, and she "collapsed on the sidewalk." A man walking his dog and talking on his phone allegedly walked by, and didn't care to help her.
She then called on a friend to follow her alleged assailant, and he directed the police to arrest him.
