Although Paul Walker’s life ended tragically in a car accident in 2013, his “Fast and Furious” character may yet be seen again, according to his brothers.
After Walker's death, Caleb and Cody Walker shot some scenes in the “Fast and Furious 7” movie to help in the editing and finishing process, which was then completed with CGI. The character, Brian O’Connor, was phased out of the movie by leaving the gang to live at the beach with his family.
Now, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Walker brothers related that they had talked recently to producer Vin Diesel about the possibility of bringing the character back in future movies, though not in “Fast 8,” which is being released in April 2017.
“I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing,” Caleb said to ET about a future cameo for Brian’s character using Caleb and Cody in the filming.
Cody added, “Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family.”
The movie company had received criticism for using Paul’s image on movie posters after his death, although most fans did not see the move as opportunistic. Two more "Fast and Furious" movies are planned after "Fast 8."
The Walker brothers were promoting Reach Out Worldwide, a charity Paul started and his brothers are working to keep going. ROWW is currently helping victims of flooding in Louisiana and others in need.
