While many celebrities showed their support for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings on social media on Monday, actor-comedian Patton Oswalt tweeted and Facebooked more novel reactions to the tragedy, which both quickly went viral.
In what the White House has claimed was an act of terror,
two explosions ripped through the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday within 30 seconds of each other, leaving three people dead and countless others injured.

Oswalt commended the spectators for immediately jumping into rescue mode.
The stand-up comedian also bemoaned the tragedy in his
Facebook post titled, "Boston. F****** horrible," but managed to put a positive spin on an otherwise horrible situation.
"I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, 'Well, I've had it with humanity,'" Oswalt wrote. "But I was wrong. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago. So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance, or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, 'The good outnumber you, and we always will.'"
Commenters thanked Oswalt for his optimistic attitude.
"Thanks for bringing the good to the front," Facebook user Penny Madole Munoz wrote. "You can always find light in darkness, it is more powerful."

"I refuse to live in fear, for that is not living at all," Richard Evans posted. "Hold our heads high, clasp our hands together, and we will be unbreakable as a people. I am proud to be human."
