Pat Sajak has apologized for yelling at a contestant on "Wheel of Fortune." The game show host admitted he "finally snapped" on Wednesday after Darin McBain, whose mother was a three-day champion back in the '80s, questioned an answer to the puzzle that was for things that begin with the word "kitchen."
"Cabinet, oven, towels, sink," McBain answered correctly, but wondered about the use of the word oven, according to Fox News.
"Kitchen oven? What was that?" McBain said.
"Yeah, where else would you keep an oven?" Sajak responded.
"For sure in the kitchen, but who calls it a 'kitchen oven?'" McBain pushed.
"You won! Don't argue, Darin! You got the puzzle! Ungrateful players, I've had it!" Sajak responded.
The "Wheel of Fortune" host then said he was only kidding and had just "finally snapped." Viewers were divided on whether or not Sajak was joking about losing it with McBain.
"Oh my @patsajak almost lost it on this dude #WheelOfFortune," one Twitter user wrote.
"He cloaked his anger in a 'joking' tone. But that guy truly was obnoxious," a viewer replied.
Others were quick to defend Sajak, insisting that it was all part of the show.
"Pat was trying to be funny! He wasn’t ‘mean’ or condescending. I watch this every weeknight," a Twitter user insisted.
"He was kidding around," another added.
McBain finished up in second place and took home $15,350. He also earned an apology from Sajak.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you," Sajak told him. "It's just — I don't remember your mother giving us trouble like you did."
