A parrot might have exposed a man's affair after it repeated phrases his wife said the man never said to her.
A Kuwaiti woman filed an adultery complaint against her husband after their pet parrot started saying flirtatious phrases the woman said she'd never heard at home, the Daily Mail reported. The woman took the parrot to the police station and claimed her husband was having an affair with the housekeeper.
The woman had suspected her husband of having an affair for a while because he acted nervous when she came home early from work, The Times of India reported.
The man was left off the hook since police said there was no proof of who had said the phrases in front of the parrot or where the parrot learned them. The parrot could have heard the lines on a radio or television program, authorities said.
In Kuwait, adultery is a serious crime punishable by jail time or even hard labor. It was not reported exactly what the parrot said, or what breed of parrot it was, or even the bird’s name, according to the New York Post.
In 2006, a parrot named Ziggy revealed its owner's girlfriend had been unfaithful. “I love you, Gary!” the bird repeated, revealing the name of the other lover.
