Paris Hilton is engaged to her boyfriend Carter Reum after a year of dating. The socialite shared the news Wednesday on Instagram.
"When you find your soulmate, you don't just know it. You feel it," Hilton captioned a series of engagement photos. In the post, she recounts how Reum popped the question.
"My love and I have been together since our first date and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise," she continued. "As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. I said yes, yes to forever. There's no one I'd rather spend forever with."
Several ecstatic friends and family members commented on the news on Instagram.
"Congratulations!!!!!!! So excited and happy!!!!" wrote Kris Jenner.
"Congratulations," Holly Madison replied.
"Soooooo happy for you," Rachel Zoe wrote.
"Congratulations. I am so happy for you two. Sending lots of love," Heidi Klum added.
Hilton and Reum, a businessman and family friend, began dating in November after meeting at a Thanksgiving dinner. In an interview with People, the heiress recalled the day.
"I've known him for 15 years," she said. "Then [Reum's sister Halle Hammond] invited us to Thanksgiving and we just had this incredible chemistry. We had our first date and haven't spent a night apart since. It's pretty amazing."
Hilton has been through a string of toxic relationships, which she opened up about in her documentary, "This Is Paris," and now she says she has finally found the one she wants to spend her life with.
"I don't think I was ready for it before," she said. "I just always wanted what my mom and dad have. They're best friends, he's so loyal. I was always looking for that, but I was looking in the wrong places."
