Otis Nixon, a former Atlanta Braves player, was found safe since going missing Saturday.
Woodstock police officer Brittany Duncan said Nixon's girlfriend reported that Nixon was missing Sunday afternoon, The Associated Press reported.
"Otis Nixon has been located and is safe. We appreciate the assistance from the public and media," Woodstock Police tweeted Monday afternoon. Details of his disappearance will be released later.
The 58-year-old was apparently last seen leaving his Georgia home Saturday morning in a gray Range Rover.
According to police, Nixon was headed to a golf course. However, he never made his scheduled tee time.
"He left for a tee time at a local golf course, but never arrived," Woodstock police said in a Facebook post.
When Nixon was seen leaving his home, police say he was wearing all black, including a black long sleeve shirt, black sweatpants, a black baseball hat, and black Adidas shoes with white stripes, according to CNN.
Nixon, who was suspended from baseball in 1991 for 60 days for cocaine use, played for nine different teams in his 17-year Major League Baseball career.
The North Carolina native started his pro baseball career with the New York Yankees in 1983, CNN noted. The best moments of his career came with the Atlanta Braves, where Nixon played from 1991 to 1993 and then in 1999 for his final season in the league.
Nixon ended his career with 1,379 hits and 620 stolen bases.
According to the Braves, Nixon stole more bases in the '90s than any other MLB player.
