Poll: Most Iowa Voters Disapprove of Obama's Performance

A  majority of Iowa voters disapprove of President Barack Obama’s performance in office, according to a Tarrance Group poll. Obama will be visiting Iowa as part of a three-day swing through the Midwest.

 

Of those surveyed, 53 percent disapprove of the president’s job performance, with 46 percent strongly feeling that Obama is not doing a good job, according to the poll, commissioned by the American Action Network

 

Among Iowa independents, 61 percent surveyed disapprove of his performance with 51percent strongly disapproving. Forty-seven percent of senior citizens polled disapprove of Obama’s performance.

 

“The voters of Iowa have deep concerns about the president’s leadership and the direction he has taken the nation,” said Brian Walsh, president of American Action Network. “Just three years after Iowa supported President Obama, a majority of voters disapprove of his performance and this data raises questions about whether the president can win in Iowa next year.”

 

“Amid 9.1 percent unemployment and the fallout of the nation’s first credit downgrade, a taxpayer-funded PR junket is the last thing Americans need out of this president,” said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.
