NSA Love Songs: Twitter Users Rewrite Lyrics, Poke Fun at Spy Scandal

Twitter users are poking fun at the National Security Agency's Internet surveillance program that leaked last week with a new trending hashtag: #NSALoveSongs.

Whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed last week that the NSA and FBI have been involved in a blanket Internet wiretap since 2007, culling and recording Americans' emails, chats, online documents, and videos on various platforms, including Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Skype.

Though the NSA claims it was only targeting foreign enemies, the scandal has raised issues about privacy and America's right to know what the government is up to.

But Twitter users turned the controversy into a joke by creating a new hashtag — #NSALoveSongs.
