Nicole Kidman may play former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in an upcoming film about former network head
Roger Ailes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Charlize Theron has reportedly been cast to play Megyn Kelly and Margot Robbie may also star in the untitled film about the women of Fox News and Ailes, who was forced to resign as network chief in 2016 amid a swirl of sexual misconduct allegations. He died in May 2017 at age 77.
Ailes' fall from grace came swiftly after Carlson filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual harassment, which he denied, The New York Times reported.
An internal review was launched, and several other women came forward alleging inappropriate behavior by Ailes, ultimately leading to his departure.
The upcoming film will reportedly focus on these allegations and how it led to Ailes' ouster.
Jay Roach is attached as director and Charles Randolph is the screenwriter, according to CBS News.
This is not new territory for the director, who has worked on projects such as "Game Change," which was based on the 2008 presidential campaign, according to CBS News.
Theron will serve as producer alongside Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Roach, Randolph, and Margaret Riley.
