Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Malik Jackson praised the "honorable" anti-Semitic preacher Louis Farrakhan for speaking "truth" in an apparent defense of his teammate DeSean Jackson.
Malik made his remarks on Thursday in a comment that has since been deleted from Instagram, but which was caught in a screenshot that has been circulating on social media. In a tweet shared by Eagles Nation, Malik wrote:
"The honorable farrakhan is nothing like that vile scum hitler. He speaks the truth and believes in protection of self and that scares ur racist a-s.. 2nd d Jack did not quote anyone he took a PICTURE or a book that was to invoke thought and conversation.”
Farrakhan has previously compared Jews to cockroaches and called Judaism a gutter religion, just two of his many anti-Semitic statements.
Malik's comments come days after Jackson created a storm by sharing quotes to Instagram that were apparently made by Hitler. Later research showed the quotes were not made by Hitler; yet they were still anti-Semitic.
Jackson has apologized for his actions after the team’s owners and others denounced him. Among the quotes he shared were:
"Hitler said, 'because the white Jews knows that the Negroes are the real Children of Israel and to keep Americas secret the Jews will blackmail America'" read one highlighted passage taken from the book "Jerusalem," according to Fox News.
"The will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the Negroes know who they were," a second paragraph read.
"The white citizens of America will be terrified to know that all this time they’ve been mistreating and discriminating and lynching Children of Israel," concluded the third passage.
Malik also shared a quote by Farrakhan, which read: "There must be 100% change … There’s a burden the Earth is carrying that it must be relieved from. The Earth is burdened by the wicked living on a planet that was made for the righteous."
