A new social media network for rich people, Netropolitan.club lets those with a higher income bypass the regular people on Facebook and brag about acquisitions and fabulous vacations on an exclusive site.

Netropolitan.club says it's “the online country club for people with more money than time,” allowing rich people to share details about their pricey purchases and luxurious lifestyles.

But the opportunity to gloat guilt-free isn’t cheap. The digital forum for keeping up with the Joneses will cost members $9,000 upfront to join and then $3,000 a year.
Composer James Touchi-Peters came up with the idea after sensing that friends thought he was bragging when posting about certain topics,
Michelle Lawless of PR firm Media Minefield, said, according to The Los Angeles Times. The former conductor of the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra wanted to design a place where people could share “without the backlash,” she added.
Netropolitan said it doesn't accept or show advertising from third parties to its users, however members can join forums and create groups to "have conversations about everything from fine wines to classic cars to vacation destination recommendations."
Past studies have shown people on Facebook are often depressed because it's easy for their friends to only post the best parts of their lives.
