NeNe Leakes, the feisty star of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," was hospitalized last week when doctors found blood clots in her lungs.
Leakes, 44, posted a photo online of herself in a hospital gown with IVs in her arms Monday, fueling speculation that she had suffered a heart attack.
The reality star took to her blog Tuesday to explain her diagnosis.

"I'm thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don't recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don't go to the doctor and that's when the big problems start happening," she wrote. "Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack."
She is currently recovering at home.
Leakes' wedding was featured recently on her Bravo spin-off, "I Dream of NeNe." The finale aired Oct. 27 and highlighted Leakes' wedding to Gregg Leakes, whom she first married in 1997. The couple divorced in 2011, and then remarried on the show.
"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
