Neil DeGrasse Tyson Schools 'Fox and Friends' on Science on 'SNL'

By    |   Monday, 07 April 2014 09:16 AM EDT

Neil deGrasse Tyson, host of television's "Cosmos" reboot, was played by Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson in a skit in which he attempts to explain climate change to the clueless hosts of "Fox and Friends" this past weekend.

The Blaze reported the parody kicks off with a small segment in which the three hosts, Steve Doocy, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and Brian Kilmeade, complain about the burden of signing up for Obamacare.

"It's tough to sign up for things," says Kilmeade. "I've tried for years to join the NAACP."

"Brian, why would you do that?" Hasselbeck asks.

"I just love college basketball," Kilmeade responds, confusing the NCAA with the NAACP.

Making light of the millions of people who lost their doctors since Obamacare has been instated, a housewife from South Carolina is interviewed by the trio. She says couldn't sign up because she's "no good at computers," but she was implying that she couldn't keep her doctor because he had a restraining order against her.

After the interview, the hosts are joined by Neil deGrasse Tyson, who Kilmeade immediately confuses with Mike Tyson by expressing how awesome he thought it was when he bit off Evander Holyfield's ear. Tyson, stunned by his stupidity, doesn't react.

Speaking to the recent Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, Tyson says, "It is an indisputable fact that the earth is getting warmer."

"Warmer! Tell that to the Polar Vortex," Doocy quips.

"I wore a jacket today and it's April," Hasselbeck exclaims.

"I saw a documentary about a town that was always cold because of a princess," says Kilmeade, accidentally referencing the Disney film "Frozen."

Tyson moves on, saying it should be everyone's shared responsibility to combat climate change, which would save polar bears.

"Whoa whoa whoa, Dr. Tyson," Doocy says. "The polar bears are fine. In fact, just the other day I saw one wearing sunglasses drinking a Coca-Cola!"
