Select packages of Nature Valley bars were recalled voluntarily by processor General Mills due to potential listeria contamination.
The brands involved in the recall include Valley Protein Chew Bars and Nature Valley Simple Nut Bars,
according to the Knoxville New Sentinel.
The recall is part of an ongoing national recall issued by sunflower kernel supplier SunOpta.
No confirmed illness have been reported,
according to WPTV.
The products involved in the recall were distributed nationwide, and General Mills recommends that consumers discard any of the products included in the recall regardless of the date,

Listeria can cause fever, muscle aches, and diarrhea, and is potentially deadly,
according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It can be more serious for older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems.
