Today is National Taco Day, which happens to fall on Taco Tuesday this year, so make your meal plans accordingly.
Social media's #NationalTacoDay is celebrated every year on Oct. 4, but if your workday lunch plans often include Taco Tuesday, you'll be doubly happy today.
Many restaurants will be offering deals on tacos in celebration of the national day.
Margaritas Mexican Restaurants will be offering "a foot-long, 2 pound 'taco gigante.'" The cost of the taco is $12.99, which might sound a little pricy to some, considering it’s a "deal," but $2 of the cost will go to Team IMPACT, an organization working to improve the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses, WFSB reported.
The popular fast-food restaurant known for its tacos, Taco Bell, also will be taking part in National Taco Day by offering custom drink orders for $1 during their happy hour from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
On The Border is another restaurant participating in the National Taco Day by offering mini crisp tacos for just 50 cents, WFSB noted.
According to the National Day Calendar, tacos precede the Europeans’ arrival to Mexico, taking into account anthropological evidence that conveys native people who lived in the lake region of the Valley of Mexico and ate tacos containing small fish.
