Naples, Florida, is the No. 1 U.S. metropolitan community for well-being for the second consecutive year based on this year’s Gallup-Healthways survey.
The metro area, which includes Immokalee and Marco Island, had a well-being score of 66.3, the highest score among nearly 190 communities, on the 2015-2016 Gallup-Healthways State of American Well-Being Community Rankings.
Barnstable Town, Massachusetts, a community that landed in the top six in last year’s survey, finished right behind Naples this year with a well-being score of 66.2.
Santa Cruz-Watsonville, California, also was ranked in the top six in the last Gallup poll, but landed the third spot for this year’s survey, with a well-being score of 65.9.
As for the last two spots in the top five, those went to Urban Honolulu, Hawaii, and Charlottesville, Virginia, respectively.
Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island has remained in the top 10 for this survey since the 2012-2013 rankings.
This year’s Gallup-Healthways survey was released on Tuesday, and the report is said to survey residents’ feelings about “physical health, social ties, financial security, community and sense of purpose,” according to Today.
Outside of Naples, Boulder, Colorado, and Provo-Orem, Utah, are the only other communities that have ranked at the top of this list more than once since 2008, which is when these surveys began.
